The Positively True Adventures of an Almost Famous Writer
Greg and I checked out the Forum Shops when it first opened (14 years ago?). I didn't remember it having more than one floor. I guess there's been some additions/remodeling.At the time of our visit, people movers would transport you in from the street, but the only way out was to go through the casino first. Bastards! Is it still like that?
So did you ride the escalator up or down or both? I had never seen that either, cool pictures, thanks for sharing.
Cher and Bette have their own GIFT SHOPS?! I can only imagine the chotskies in there.AND spiral escalators...you just know that is a drag queen's DREAM! Waving to her audience while descending in place - less likely to blow a heel that way.
Wow! Love the pictures Michael. I'm really impressed. Spiral escalators. Bette gift shop. Cher gift shop. Sounds like a dangerous place for me to go.
I've seen Cher. It was an awesome show. btw . . . My fave shop inside the Forum is Fat Tuesdays! Go figure, right? :)
Other than postcards, I didn't purchase a single thing at the Forum Shops.I did, however, spend a lot of time at the Caesar's Palace pools!
I remember the moving talking statues and the ceilings, all very bizarre and trippy. I remember those pesky travelators too! they worked fine upon entering but when it came to leaving they were mysteriously "out of order". We fell for the bait.
I've gotta get back to Vegas!
It reminds me of the Galleries Layfatyette in Paris... very opulent and gaudy (but I would rather that than industrial and boring!!) Great pics...
Beautiful pictures! Just think, I may have paid for some of that stuff from all the money I've lost over the years/
Michael these are great pictures.xoxo
LOVE those escalators? Aren't they a trip?! A "CHER shop"?!? I am sooo there! Great pics!
It's fun, I enjoyed it when I was there
I too am impressed by spiral escalators !
awesome pics....once again you have given me another place to add to my list of must visits;)
Your photos bring back memories... I was there a couple of years back and I remember the Celine Dion Gift shop...Too bad all I could afford at the time was a refrigerator magnet.
Wow, I've never been to Vegas. It's looks so over the top. Someday!
Michael!I LOVE that gigantic spiral staircase!I've got to get me one of those!-Dean
