Egg and I: Food Review 39 of 52

If you look close, you can see me standing under the waitress on this giant billboard!

As part of my New Year's Resolution to try 52 new restaurants, diners, coffee shops and bakeries during 2009, I present the following review.

Place
The Egg and I

Location
2828 Lyndale Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55408

Who I Went With
Tony

What I Ate
Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns.

Would I Go Back:
Yes. The Egg and I has served breakfast for over 20 years. The feel is a throwback to local diners with a relaxed atmosphere, a variety of patrons and great food!

Worth the Price:
Yes.

Yes I looked up her skirt. And I was shocked at what I saw!

Micael, I love the signs for this place. The food looks like typical diner fare, but I do love diners.

I love the name of this place. I have a thing for places to eat with silly names. In my area there is a kebab joint called 'Get Stuffed' and i once ate at Cafe named 'In one end outta the other' I think they thought it refered to fast service. No one else did

Hi there! I just got to know your blog, and I think it's great! Oh, about the food, a little too rich for my taste... Besides, I'd have to double my workout load just to burn those!!! lol

I'm sure it tastes better than it looks. Usually, your pics send me right to the pantry or fridge.... not this one, although I have to say, that what you ate is probably one of my favorite go out to eat breakfasts and/or lunches.

Good to see that you are keeping your resolution.

I've been away: first in Victoria and then to Newcastle to catch up with family there. Only ate out once: ham and salad sandwich with a pot of tea. Would certainly go back again for another sandwich!

Where are your baked beans,lol?
You can't have a cooked breakfast without them or tomatoes. He, he, he! It looks very dry on the plate. Pleased it tasted lovely though.

Looks so much better than that other breakfast.
