Grand Lux Cafe Food Review: 35 of 52

As part of my New Year's Resolution to try 52 new restaurants, diners, coffee shops and bakeries during 2009, I present the following review.

Place:
Grand Lux Cafe

Location:
Venetian Hotel
Las Vegas

Who I Went With:
Anne, Marvin, Ryan and I went for a late dinner after the Joan Rivers' show.

What I Ate:
We all had pasta dishes. And they were incredible. I had the Pasta Carbonara which the menu describes as a "classic Italian favorite." Spaghettini in a butter cream sauce with a touch of white wine, applewood smoked bacon, peas, garlic, romano and parmesan cheeses.

Would I Go Back:
Yes. The decor was beautiful and the food was wonderful, rich and very full of flavor. It was a great way to end our evening of entertainment.

Worth the Price:
Marvin and Anne were very sweet and treated us. Thanks again for a wonderful night!!

Inside the Forum Shops

I already shared a few outside photos of The Forum Shops in Las Vegas. The inside is just as incredible. Hopefully these photos do the place justice. I'd never seen escalators in the fashion of a spiral staircase.

Being we were inside Caesar's Palace I wanted to see Bette and Cher's gift shop. I really want to go back and see Bette's show.

NWA Pilots: My Guess at the Cause

The National Transportation Safety Board says that the pilots aboard Northwest Flight 188 were using their laptops when the plane dropped out of radio communications and overflew the Twin Cities airport by 150 miles.

The pilots agree that there was "a concentrated period of discussion" where they did not monitor the airplane or calls from the air traffic controllers.

Uh huh. Sure. A "concentrated period of discussion."

I've got $20 bucks that says they were having sex.

Thoughts?

Nascar Cafe: Food Review 34 of 52

As part of my New Year's Resolution to try 52 new restaurants, diners, coffee shops and bakeries during 2009, I present the following review.

Place:
Nascar Cafe

Location:
Sahara Hotel
Las Vegas

Who I Went With:
Ryan

What I Ate:
Cheeseburger and fries.

Would I Go Back:
Sure. I have no interest in the Nascar theme. I'm more of a Planet Hollywood Restaurant type of guy. But, the burger was incredible so that fact would get me back. If I was in Vegas, hungry for a burger and near the Sahara Hotel--this is where I would go.

Worth the Price:
Prices were great and the portions huge. I didn't eat half the fries. I had flown into Vegas after working all day so I was tired and hungry when I checked into the hotel. I didn't feel like walking around the strip to find something to eat. I stayed at the Sahara and decided to give this a shot. I'm glad I did.

Vegas at Night

During my Vegas vacation I took a few night photos. The Vegas strip should be seen at night whenever possible!

The Arc de Triomphe replica for the Paris Vegas hotel.

Bellagio and Caesar's Palace.

My favorite picture. Paris Hotel.

Tabatha's Salon Takeover is Back!

Tabatha's Salon Takeover is one of my biggest Guilty Pleasures. I love the show. Love it. LOVE IT! I never missed one minute of season 1. I made friends and family watch it. I didn't want the season to end. But it did.

Months passed and we did not hear anything from Bravo about the chance of another season. But now Tabatha fans can rejoice! Season 2 premiers Tuesday, November 3rd at 9pm central. Tune in!

Don Alejandro's Texan Grill: Food Review 33 of 52

As part of my New Year's Resolution to try 52 new restaurants, diners, coffee shops and bakeries during 2009, I present the following review.

Place:
Don Alejandro's Texan Grill

Location:
Las Vegas Airport

Who I Went With:
Myself

What I Ate:
Hard shell tacos and rice.

Would I Go Back:
Yes.

Worth the Price:
The price was under $10. Great for a restaurant in an airport. I was really hungry for something other than a burger or pizza. I saw this place and knew I wanted Mexican. I also wanted a place where I could sit down, eat and read before my flight. This was perfect.
