Joan Rivers- A Piece of Work and Me

Back in February 2009, I spent a day with Joan Rivers when she was doing an event for QVC and the Mall of America.

I was thrilled when a documentary crew following Joan asked to interview me. Of course I'd be interviewed! Not only was I interviewed, but the following interaction with Joan was all caught on film.

The crew's project turned into the film Joan Rivers - A Piece of Work. It's premiering at the Sundance Film Festival this week. I don't know if any of my scenes made the final cut of the film (the crew followed Joan for an entire year) but it was great to be part of the process.

If you do see the film, watch for my name in the final credits. I supplied some photos of various stages of Joan's career.

Wow. Just... wow!!!

I SO hope that your interview made the final cut of the film! That would be fantastic!

I'm still envious as Hell that you got to spend the day with her. I would have scared her to death by reciting her entire act from "What Becomes a Semi-Legend Most" verbatim. Sort of like the way I imagine I will recreate the "Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" speech if I ever meet Dixie Carter. :)

Fingers crossed that you're in the film!!!

Will certainly look out for your name. Saw her once judging a dog show in Melbourne during the Midsummer festival, it was hilarious!
Looking forward to the film!

Joan is constantly one of the best guests on the Howard Stern show. She's never more open and hilarious as when she is on that show.

How exciting, Michael!!!! I can't wait to see the final cut. Also,I watched the Fashion Police last night with Joan, I fell in love with her all over again. She looks so much better then when she was on that "roast"....it seems like her face is not so swollen and puffy and she really looks terrific! YAY!
