Quote:
There's no point in making a movie just to be making a movie.
Who Said It:
Warren Beatty
My Thoughts:
With the quality of so many movies lately, Hollywood needs to listen to Warren's advice!!

Let's not forget Ishtar.
Amen!
For the most part--because he has had some epic failures--Beatty does make interesting films.
He is a cutie.
Someone wrote a song about him but, wow he was hot.
God would somebody please tell that to Ben Affleck.
Betty Schaefer: Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Gillis, but I just didn't think it was any good. I found it flat and trite.
Joe Gillis: Exactly what kind of material do you recommend? James Joyce? Dostoyevsky?
Betty Schaefer: I just think that pictures should say a little something.
Joe Gillis: Oh, one of the message kids. Just a story won't do. You'd have turned down Gone With the Wind.
Sheldrake: No, that was me. I said, "Who wants to see a Civil War picture?"

agreed! and omg was he cute in his youngerr days...wow!
Warren should have followed his own advice for some of his films. Town & Country was slightly less pleasant than a vigorous waterboarding.
He was so hot! No wonder he got all the ladies back in the day.
I wonder if he lived by this quote why did he make Ishtar? Hmmm
:)
Adore it! And I totally agree with you, Michael.
If you'd change the word "movie" it could be perfectly adapted to any of our daily actions/activities in real life.
B ;)
It would be nice if Hollywood would listen to that advice. Not going to happen though.
excuse me, twilight has a point.
I fully agree with his statement. If you are going to do something have heart in it. Give it your all.

I'm trying to remember his good movies. There was the football one and... I'll never forget Ishtar. It was the first movie I ever walked out of. I had heard people say that they walked out of a movie, but had thought that it was dumb since you paid money to see it. After 30" of Ishtar, I was willing to pay just to let me out. He was cute though!
Right said, Michael. So much money, time and energy to make trash.
Where is the vision of Beatty.
Joy always,
Susan
So what gay charity is going to benefit from Elton's $1,000,000 fee?
What commitment has Rush Limbaugh made, never to engage in verbal gaybashing ever again?
It's quite clear that despite Elton being gay and Limbaugh being a bigot, that their middle age and extraordinary wealth is the reason they are close.
Morals and ethics are secondary to cold, hard cash for Reg Dwight.
Fair enough. But he cannot be taken seriously as an Aids activist or a gay spokesperson while he is earning money from the proceeds of homophobia.
haha, how very clever!
He's so vain but right.
Swoon.
Someone should've told him that before he played in Dick Tracy! lmao!
I'll never understand how half the crap that Hollywood pushes out ever gets made. That's why I rarely go to the movies anymore.
After I pay for a ticket, and the movie turns out to be a stinker, I usually stay just to justify the cost.
Although there was that one time I went to the movies with a friend to see Vanity Fair. We must have been on the same wavelength, because at one point in the movie we both turned and looked at each other and said, "let's go". And we were out of there!
LOL Ishtar came to mind as well.
Good quote, you think Michael Bay heard it?
OH! YES! Indeed he was very cute!
Warren is so Handsome in this pic huh...love it
ditto to what MJ said
lol
But most studios aren't making movies just to make movies anymore. They make them to make money. Well...at least on DVD sales. ;)
Thank you for that quote! I couldn't tell you that last time I saw a movie. I just watch them when they come on demand. I hope your doing well cutie!
