Number of Shows I've Seen:
One. Bea was touring with her one woman show, And Then There's Bea. This show would go to Broadway and become the Tony nominated Bea Arthur on Broadway: Just Between Friends.
Just seeing Bea Arthur walk onto the stage was an iconic moment. There was "Dorothy Zbornak." Live. Right in front of me. The lady I spent every Saturday night with during the run of The Golden Girls. I was in awe.

Alison Arngrim, comic and Little House on the Prairie star recently made a book signing appearance at the Mall of America. People love to hate Alison for her portrayal of Nellie Oleson on the classic TV series. She's written the fantastic book Confessions of a Prairie Bitch (How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love being Hated).
I had to miss the signing but my friends Laura and Deb were able to go. They purchased a book for me and Laura asked how I wanted it inscribed.
I wanted something fun so I decided that if Alison Arngrim is the "Prairie Bitch," then I must be the "City Bitch."
I'm told Alison loved my idea and busted out laughing. She happily signed the book: To Mike, the city bitch, from the prairie bitch!

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Golden Girls, the complete series is being released in a box set (November 9, 2010)! Twenty-one DVDs will contain all 180 episodes and will be packaged in a replica of Sophia's purse.
I already own all 7 season on DVD. But this box set is very tempting!
Golden Girls is one of those rare sitcoms whose writing, acting and directing is timeless. The laughs are still coming 25 years later. There is a reason all 4 actresses won an Emmy.

There was a time in the 80s and 90s where if a person could hold a microphone, they could host a daytime talk show (or at least try). I loved these shows and I still secretly dream of the day when I’ll have my own (are you listening Hollywood?).
Years on the Air
29 years! (1967 to 1996)
Donahue remains the longest continuous run of any syndicated talk show in U.S. television history.
Did you watch?
I always loved when he had celebrity guests. The world events went over my head. But Susan Lucci on the panel--I was there!

This is the last Friday the 13th of 2010.
One of my superstitions is not looking ahead on a Page-a-Day calendar. Somewhere along the way I developed the thought that it was bad luck. Don't ask me why it's not bad luck to view an entire month on a wall calendar.
What superstitions do you have?

Number of Concerts I've Attended:
One. This Minneapolis concert was supposed to be the final concert of Cher's career. Then she decided to extend the farewell tour. And extend it. And extend it. She ended up coming back to Minneapolis another three times! And now she's headlining in Vegas.
The Bob Mackie costumes, the elaborate productions and Cher just being Cher. The show was very well produced. The mega-hit If I Could Turn Back Time was a crowd favorite.
