I wouldn't even know how many times I've seen this movie. It has been my favorite since I was a little kid.

My favorite quote from The Wizard Of Oz is one I use regularly at work when I want people to go away:
Be gone! Before someone drops a house on you!

I work with this woman at the hospital. I have seen the wicked stuff she does. She can make others disappear. I like the movie as well. Just be carefull; she may come after you as well.

It's an incredible movie...and the back stories are just so amazing. For example, Gale Sondergaard originally was cast as the witch but replaced because the studio thought she was too beautiful!

There are so many quotes from this beloved movie.

“Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking.”

My favorite quote is from Mommie dearest though--

Christina: There's a liquor store around the corner.
Joan: Leave to you to know where to find the boys and the booze!

Is my gay brain missing something? This film, like numerous others so popular among 'our kind', just doesn't affect me in that 'special way' that it does others. Good fun in parts, to be sure, but not exceptional enough to be in my all-time Top 100. But as it's so easy to criticise without sticking one's own neck out, perhaps I ought to do a blog nominating my own favourites. I think I will.

Just remembered. My own favourite films are all listed on my profile page, for those who care enough to look. Still, could do a blog on why certain ones are there.

"Lions and tigers and bears! Oh, my!" and "Poppies...Poppies!" are my favourite quotes and I'm sick to death of hearing "Somewhere Over the Frigging Rainbow" the hurricane can't come quick enough.

Hey!

It's almost time for the next "5 on the fifth". You can either take 5 random pictures of something that happens to you on the 5th of October (or the days leading up to it) or perhaps go for my suggested theme. This month, the theme is 'Round'.
