For as brief as a meteor's appearance he was a very big name in the 50s. I well remember his huge hit 'Young Love' as well as his 'Red Sails in the Sunset'.
It wasn't that big of a secret. When people would confuse him with Troy Donahue, Donahue would say "I'm the straight one." During his bogus "relationship" with Natalie Wood, the joke was "Natalie Wood, but Tab wouldn't."
very cute... Have you been watching Joan on Fashion Police? Love her and think of you every time I watch! Hope you're well. Sorry I don't stop by as often- baby is keeping me busy! xx
I remember him from Lust In The Dust with the late Divine. His name has always amused me because it means here, someone who is skilled at spotting, picking up, drying out and smoking discarded cigerette ends (tabs) mainly tramps do this. This pastime is called tab hunting or hunting for tabs. I'm ashamed to say my friend and I used to partake in this activity when we were children, scouring the ashtrays in busy shopping centres without a care who's lips have been on them and pretending to be Joan Collins.

How enigmatic is that? That was the fifties though and people were pretty uptight....
This is pretty genious!
wow...amazing smile ;)
His book was very enjoyable and it was amazing to read about all the super stars he was friends with.
I could mail to you if you'd like.
But of course, dear boy. So have half the male actors in Hollywood. Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!
I need to google him. I have no idea who he is. I may have been living under a rock.
And I imagine his own personal DADT didn't work weel either.
Now that he's telling I bet he's happier.

I've long searched for Tab Hunter's autobiography in Australia without success so far.
He is hot, how sad he had to life in the closet.
Ray
Cool!
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Wasn't he in a John Water's film? "Polyester" maybe...not sure.
Great smile on his young face!
Yet another example of a reason we are lucky to not have been navigating life in the 1950s.
I'll have to read his book. I bet it's fascinating.
good ol Tabby--so darn cute! I may need to get the bk to read on holiday next week
He is cute. Most of us has lived a dont ask dont tell life.
What a great quote, he has lived a very interesting life!
Sometimes, if people ask...they must be prepared to know the answer!

I still have friends living this life...sucks, doesn't it?
I'm just glad he doesn't have to live that way any longer.
